Program Tracks

Starting Fall 2013 all students entering the SUNY Oneonta dietetics program are being assigned to a program completion track or plan that they will follow as they complete the program.  By splitting the large group of incoming students into two smaller groups that follow different pathways or “tracks” through the curriculum faculty will be able to better plan for and meet the demands for seats in their courses.   In other words, faculty will have a pretty good idea how many students are on track to take their course in any given semester.   Also, students will know which courses they will be taking each semester.  The two tracks or plans are presented below.

It is important to note the following;

  • The tracks are only for students entering the program Fall 2013 and after.
  • TRANSFER STUDENTS will be put in the track or plan that helps them graduate in the shortest time based on their previous coursework and the SUNY Oneonta dietetics program requirements
  • Adjustments can be made to a student’s program completion plan
  • All students who started the dietetics program Fall 2012 and after: A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and a grade of B- or better is required in all required major and related work courses to remain in the dietetics major.  If you are having difficulty, talk with your Academic Advisor and/or the Dietetics Program Director.
  • Additional sections of Food Service Management sequence, which can be used in either plan, are planned for as follows:
    • Fall odd number years:  FOOD 232   and   Spring even number years:  FOOD 235
    •  Fall even number years: FOOD 331
